Bristol World Naked Bike Ride

One event we did not include in the round-up of things to do in Bristol last weekend was Bristol’s very own World Naked Bike Ride. The ride started on Sunday lunchtime at the Full Moon in Stokes Croft and wound its way around the city, passing through Castle Park, Baldwin Street and by Cabot Circus, stopping briefly in front of the Council House.

The aims of the ride were to promote regular car-free Sundays in Bristol city centre, and also show the vulnerability of cyclists on Bristol’s roads. The ride almost didn’t go ahead after the police threatened to de-nude riders, but it eventually took place with about 200 brave participants.
