Nowhere Island in Bristol

8 09 2012

An island from the Arctic has floated into Bristol. Nowhere Island, an artwork by Spike Island-based artist Alex Harley, will remain in the Cumberland Basin near Lockside cafe all weekend, where it is accompanied by a magnificent travelling embassy, where you can sign up to become a citizen.

The last few days of Nowhere Island, which has spent the summer travelling around the coast of the South West, will feature performances, talks and films, “exploring Nowhere Island as a sculptural act, utopian dream, direct action and a landscape on the move”.
