JLS turn on Christmas lights at Cribbs

9 11 2012

Some fans had waited all day to see JLS turn on this year’s Christmas lights at Cribbs Causeway. So when the announcer on stage built up their arrival only for them not to appear for another five minutes – leaving more time to speak to Wallace and Gromit – they would not have minded waiting for a bit more.

One other important announcement was ticket sales for the evening’s entertainment had raised precisely £20,109 for Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, helping sick children and their families across Bristol and the South West.

Support act Alexander Stewart did his best Michael Buble impression with covers of songs including Call Me by Blondie and perennial festive favourite Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea as the snow machine started up.

After the slight delay, JLS took to the stage to turn on the shopping centre’s Christmas lights, which include a Disney-like castle.

Their set then featured golden oldies such as Beat Again from those halcyon days of 2009 as well as new single Hottest Girl in the World, to an audience of screaming fans whose Christmas will have already been made.
