Free events, workshops and panels in a week-long schedule of networking, training and knowledge exchange for the creative industries.

Tuesday: Joy Forminable, Fiddlers
Last seen in these parts last year in the Old Fire Station at a promotional gig for a shoe company, The Joy Forminable return to support their new album Wolf’s Law.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Sean Hughes, Tobacco Factory Theatre
The British-Irish comedian, actor and writer is a past winner of the Perrier Award. His new stand-up show is a look at the lighter side of dying, a year after his father died.

Wednesday: Neil Shubin, Watershed  **CANCELLED**
A Festival of Ideas talk entitled The Universe Within, as palaeontologist Neil Shubin looks at the journey of the Cosmos from the Big Bang to the present day.

Thursday: Cheese Feast, Source
Five courses of cheese indulgence and food and drink matching, with Trethowan’s Dairy, Bristol food writer Fiona Beckett and Somerset’s Wild Beer Co.

Thursday: The Turner Choir, RWA
Sixteen professional singers from across the UK perform their inaugural programme in an unusual setting. Works include Barber’s Adagio for Strings and Agnus Dei.

Friday: Adhesive Live, Colston Hall
“Modern digital meets traditional classical” as digital music pioneers including Roni Size and Joker perform their music live on stage accompanied by a full orchestra.

Friday & Saturday: Beef & Beer, 40 Alfred Place
Chomp bring the beef and Wiper & True the beer for a two-day event serving up dry aged prime steaks and hamburgers accompanied by locally brewed craft beers.

Saturday-May 6: Chocolate, M Shed
The chocolate bar was invented in Bristol, and Bristol’s museum service has much memorabilia on show in this new exhibition, with 500 objects dating back to 1729.!/

Sunday: Out There Music Winter Concert, St George’s
Featuring a choir and orchestra, children’s choir, chamber choir and trumpet group, directed by Bristol’s version of Gareth Malone, Tom Jones (below, with the choir).
