The return of the 0117 Hour Challenge

Bristol’s 0117 Hour Challenge is expanding this year, with visual and sound artists as well as filmmakers and animators now being invited to take part when the challenge – which has produced everything from racing toys to buses careering down Park Street – returns for its third annual outing next month.

Once again, Bristol Film Office, the Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival and M Shed have joined forces to present the challenge, where participants have only 117 hours to make a digital piece up to three minutes in length.

This year’s theme is Journeys and the competition will be based around the Bristol Temple Quarter as part of its commissions scheme, which most recently saw a Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors-style plant bursting out of the ground at Temple Meads alongside a new canvas by Inkie.

All entries will have to feature locations within the Temple Quarter, which stretches from Temple Meads to the Paintworks.
