Big brands in Brislington

27 03 2013

Two big brands are coming to Bristol tonight hoping that the quality of the events they are promoting rubs off. Bristol may be a small city, but bizarrely the two events are happening over the road from each other with a gig by Ghostpoet in the Anglican Chapel at Arnos Vale cemetery and Puccini’s La Rondine opera taking place in the Paintworks.

Tonight only, Mercury-nominated Ghostpoet plays at the Anglican Chapel for the first Nokia Lumia Live Session with La Blogatheque, a French outfit who film sessions with bands in unusual locations. Support comes from Bristol band Towers.

And both tonight and tomorrow, Opera di Peroni will join forces with musician, producer and electronic artist Kwes and opera producers Go Opera to create a “reimagining” of La Rondine, which has already had great reviews when it was performed earlier this month in a warehouse in Shoreditch, east London.
