SMILE Handmade

Shops & Markets Idolizing Local Economy Handmade – or SMILE Handmade – have opened a new temporary shop in Quakers Friars opposite Harvey Nichols. The aim of the collective is to “bring together local artists in and around Bristol creating a magical and unique shopping experience”.

Inside the shop there are a selection of products to buy including jewellery, clothes, toys, cushions, pottery, art and much more besides.

The idea for SMILE Handmade comes from artisans appearing at markets and pop-up shops with no guarantee to make money back, and sometimes barely making a profit with up to 40 per cent commissions.

SMILE Handmade have previously hosted events at Windmill Hill City Farm’s Spring Festival, Love Create at Weston-super-Mare and Brisfest.
