Preview: Harbour Wonderland

The area around M Shed will be transformed for four days next week as it plays host to Bristol’s first Harbour Wonderland, an event that brings together Cirque Bijou, Knowle West Media Centre, Watershed and Gathering Voices Festival of Song for what promises to be a free sound and light Christmas spectacular.

Harbour Wonderland BristolOn the evenings of December 19 to 22, there will be huge origami cranes sculptures, voice reactive visuals, a giant snow globe and the biggest digital snowflake in Bristol.

Young people from south Bristol, working with Bristol filmmaker Tom Stubbs and Knowle West Media Centre, will present a new film based on an imagined tale of the freezing of the Floating Harbour, with other films presented forming part of Watershed’s Electric December.

More fun comes from choirs, illuminations,lighted braziers and themed light projections, not forgetting mince pies and spiced hot drinks.
