Art exhibition in an empty office

18 12 2012

The art currently on show in the large and empty second floor office space overlooking College Green is by Bristol-born artist Elizabeth Hunter, a fellow of the Royal West of England Academy, who from 1984 to 2001 worked as a lecturer in life drawing and painting at the School of Art & Design, which forms part of the Queen’s Road gallery, before moving to St Ives.

Original pieces are on sale for up to £6,500, but what will be most interesting for many visitors is the space itself, as a disused floor is transformed into a temporary art gallery.

Windows overlook Bristol Cathedral and City Hall one way, with a glimpse of the Lord Mayor’s Chapel from the rear of the building, College House, which houses the offices of Icon Films and Creative England.
