Poundshop Life from Bristol are playing at The Louisiana on Tuesday 14th September 2010
Sounding like the outcast and genetically modified cousins of Ian Dury, Elvis Costello and Barbara Windsor, Poundshop life play their own brand of “nearly new wave” music – immediate, cheery tunes with bitter and twisted lyrics and happy endings. Cheap and cheerful, but surprisingly good live.

We are professional musicians from most acclaimed
country – blues band in Latvia “Mirta & HotAcoustics”.
Founded in 1994, we regularly played in clubs and blues and country festivals in Europa, as well as several appearances on national TV. At the J.Wolker Blues Tour Festival in 1996,
Mirta was named” The Latvian Queen of the blues!”
Singer has an amazing voice and resembles the voice timbre J.Joplin. In 1998.we issued our first album “Pratt City Blues”. 2006.next CD album “Monday Boogie”.
At the moment, the two leaders of our band, Mirta and Eugene are living in Bristol (UK).We have a new stage name
“EUGENE & MICHELLE” and have been joined by Jon on harmonica.
Michelle is me vocalist and Eugene plays guitar, slide (dobro), stompin bass, percussion, voc. We are looking for gigs in clubs, bars, cafe’s and restaurants, we are planning to stay in England for some time. If you are interested in seeing us or have ideas, please contact us:
